Simplify to Duplify!

by Leadershipdr on June 9, 2011

This is part 1 of a 3 part post on simplifying your business to duplicate it faster

Okay, so maybe “duplify” is not a word, but I think I am going to make it one.  To become a leader in your business you MUST find a way to have followers.  You can be a leader of one, but it gets old after awhile.  Not to mention you don’t make any money at it.

We often get caught up in all the different ways to get leads into our business and how to create systems and different websites and domain names and articles and Facebook and Twitter and and and and…  This can be overwhelming for a new person in your business to try and learn and duplicate, especially if they have minimal experience online.  So, you need to keep it simple.  Yes, it is cliche, but still accurate.

Invite – Expose – Close

Here is my rudimentary funnel.  If you can invite lots of people into the funnel, you WILL get some coming out at the bottom.  Part two of this post will talk about how to expose your prospects and part 3 will discuss the closing.

How do you get more invites?  Great question.  Ray Higdon did a great webinar for this on My Lead System Pro that you should check out if you haven’t already.  He provides 10 offline ways of marketing your business.  To keep it simple, I am going to talk about one: Extending an Invite.

I was at a fundraiser last week for a non-profit.  I started talking with a gentleman that was working as a plumber, but with business down, he had been having a hard time recently and needed some extra income.  After building rapport with Joe by using the OPEN OFFER technique.  I said, “Joe (not his real name ;) ) would you be interested in a side project to help you make ends meet that didn’t interfere with your plumbing business?”

He said…”depends on what it is”  Of course he was going to say that!  But, I did not want to expose him right then and there, wrong place and wrong time.  So I said, “I can understand that.  Why don’t I get your number and we can discuss more later when it is more convenient”  Simple enough.  He gave me his number and now I have him in the funnel to move down to the Expose stage.

What if you don’t go to fundraisers?  There are lots of ways to meet people that you can build rapport with.  Go to www.meetup.com to find activities going on around your area.  It is free to join and has helped me meet lots of people.

To your massive success,

Steven
